Lasting Power of Attorney

Creating a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), previously known as an Enduring Power of Attorney, ensures that another individual is given the legal authority to look after matters concerning your health and welfare, as well as any aspects concerning your financial affairs should you become incapacitated.

There are two forms of LPA. The first form, property and financial affairs LPA concerns money matter decisions, whilst the second form covers decisions relating to your healthcare, known as a personal welfare LPA.

In the event that you do not have an LPA and later become mentally incapacitated, relatives and carers face a long delay and great expense applying to the court of protection in order to obtain access and control of your assets and finance.

The Lasting Power of Attorney forms may be, at first glance, a little daunting and somewhat tedious but our individuals are here to deal with your matter as quickly and efficiently as we can, so that you can carry on enjoying life with peace of mind.
